Just wanted to log the progress of a spike branch on this phal.
It grows really fast and already shows little baby buds:
Doesn't mean much because they can still blast.
The end of the old spike doesn't look alive and seems to have a browning point. I don't know if I should cut it off or just let it be.
Phal. Vio Vio is cross of violacea and Jungo Viotris, so there is a lot of violacea in this plant. I got it recently from Kingfisher Orchids and there was small spike started. I was pretty sure it is going to stall, but it did not. The spike grew a bit and now is developing couple buds.
The flowers are supposed to be very fragrant. And there is a new leaf growing too!
Mature plant of Phalaenopsis pulchra has two spikes growing. There are some good roots too.
Looks like plant was overheated - those strange patches on leaves. Will see how the newest leaf will turn out, hopefully healthy.
I found it open its flower today. Sadly second bud did blast. I am not sure if the top of the bloom will open more.
So here it is - Masdevallia Peppermint Rock x ignea - my second masdie to bloom.
Well, I think I know who eats my masdie decumana. I just unpotted random paphiopedilum and look who was there inside hiding in the roots :
Darn slimy thing was moving.
Now I need to go through all the pots that are on those shelves in the basement. Would it be enough to just remove the ones that I find, or should I completely change the medium? Do slugs lay eggs or what?
