Phalaenopsis Tsay's Evergreen

Phal Tsay's Evergreen has this concerning yellowing on the bottom leaf at the base. Plant overall looks ok, new leaf is growing, but when I re-potted to check out the roots - there was a lot of rot at the bottom part of the base, so I cut a chunk of it together with rotted roots. I am afraid that it will continue up.

    Maybe it's just the bottom leaf yellowing? Also, where did you happen to find this!?!?

    I hope it is just the bottom leaf dies naturally.
    Plant came from New York.

    So this means you travelled into the US to buy some plants? How far do you live from the border?
