Paph. Prince Edward of York

All three blooms opened up on my PEoY:

Isn't it gorgeous? The long petals continue to grow after the flower opens.

Paph. Prince Edward of York blooming

First bud opened on PEoY and it really is majestic.

I like how dark is the burgundy color on the pouch and how it matches the color of the spike. I am not sure if the whiskers are going to grow more, but they are quite long now as is.

The flower on Prince Edward totally beats the one on St. Swithin (also quite nice) in my opinion. I mean, I like them both but if I had to choose just one - that would be PEoY.

Paph. Prince Edward of York

I know, it is a bit of a spoiler, but buds look so incredible that I decided to make couple pictures and post them for the history. Who knows, maybe I'll never get them again:

The spike looks quite strong but I might need to stake it soon to make sure it doesn't break.

The lowest bud already cracked open and I can see some curles inside:

Paph. Prince Edward of York

Here is my newly purchased Prince Edward already repotted:

Nice and healthy leaves, roots had some peeling but there are still plenty of firm ones left. I knew it was blooming sized but after less than a week after getting it - I noticed the bud start on the larger fan.
Of course I noticed it after repotting and was worried that stress of tepotting would affect the bud development. Another week passed and bud looks fine and growing:

Can't wait for the bloom.

I noticed that all three of my paph hybrids are the rothschildianum primary crosses, it was not intentional, but now I am thinking maybe I should continue along this line...
