Phalaenopsis equestris 'orange'

"Finally" - would be the right word for this event. Phalaenopsis equestris 'orange' had several attempts to bloom before. Once the spike dried up before even buds development, the other time it rotted from the tip, so I cut it off to save the plant.
This time I pretended that I didn't even notice the spike until the blooms opened and here we go:

Flowers are very delicate, spike is extremely long. I like the blooms a lot...

Phal. Bashi Blackspot blooms

It is always fun when this plant decides to bloom because the spots are totally random and unpredictable:

The flowers are huge and this time plant works on two spikes simultaneously:

The strange thing is - I bought this plant as 'alba' variety but with every blooming there is more and more color. Go figure...

Phal. cornu-cervi red

Cornu-cervi red still goes on with the blooming:

It is hard to photograph because bloom is waxy and shiny by itself and when I use flash - there is too much shine, but when I don't use flash - there is too little shine...

Phal. Tzu Chiang Crisna bloom

I posted about start of the spike on Phal. Tzu Chiang Crisna back in December. It took more than usual 2 months for its spike to develop a bloom. Don't know why.
Anyway - the bloom was worth to wait for:

Uh...Oh... Seed pod is dying

I posted before about my pollination attempts. One of them was I-Hsin George that I crossed with Phal. violacea 'Orchis 01'. The pod is only 6 months old and not very fat or long, and it is supposed to take about 8 months to ripen. Clearly it is not good turn of events:

See how the pod started to yellow? An orchid breeder that I showed picture of a pod to said that it is going to dry out and fall. He said there still might be seeds in the capsule close to the flower and suggested to cut off the pod and wrap it in-between paper to keep seeds from dusting out.
I am going to do it today even though I am pretty sure the seeds (if there will be any) will not be viable...
