My blooming phals

I took my blooming phals outside to make a group picture yesterday. Here they are - Phal. Vio Vio, Lyndon Equator Jewel, Brother Gelblienosa and bellina II.



Phalaenopsis Vio Vio already totally lost first bloom, second bloom is wilted on the picture and there actually another bud is growing under the third flower.
It is amazing how long the blooms last on the Phal. Lyndon Equator Jewel.



Too bad they loose the color with age and older flowers look like there were bleached.



My favorite of all four of them is Phal. bellina II. It is fully opened now and smells incredible:

Paphiopedilum malipoense: look who is finally blooming

I have checked my log - I first discovered a hint of a spike on Paph. malipoense at the end of January. Well, half year later - there is a bloom:



I find bloom extremely cute with its burgundy nose and green petals.
There are lots of hair:



And all kinds of burgundy polkadots:



Even inside the pouch:



I think it is adorable, isn't it?

Moved some seedlings around

I did something that I probably shouldn't have done.
When I was deflasking my seedlings, I did it wrong. I should have put all the same sized seedlings together, instead I mixed them up. So, the large ones were in the same pot with smaller ones and it bothered me.
Finally I just got tired of looking at that mess and rearranged them. And like it wasn't bad enough - I also potted the largest ones into individual pots.
Here they are now, there are two hybrids mixed up in both trays (Bedford Nonpareil and Hawaii Dragon Girl) all labeled of course:





Hope it will not kill them. I already see some new roots pushing out of some plantlets.
Well, in couple weeks it will show if I killed them or not.

Phalaenopsis bellina II bloom

Phalaenopsis bellina II started to open the bloom yesterday, but I had enough discipline to wait until today, so the flower opens up completely. Here it is:



I like the flower a lot. Now, I am not an expert and have no clue about standards of the bellina flowers and honestly don't care much, just like this one. There is an apple-green band around the edge of the petals, looks very neat.



The fragrance is pleasant too.

Phal. violacea alba

Phalaenopsis violacea again. This time it is var. alba.
There are two spikes, not active at the moment.



I am really making an effort to log here all the plants that I have, so they are all "catalogued" with pictures.
